Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) Administrative Board Member Karatay (Konya) Municipality provided 100 metal containers for its sister city Tetovo (Kalkandelen) Municipality in North Macedonia, to be used in environmental cleaning.

Within the scope of various programs and projects carried out to develop cooperation between local governments, friendly countries and sister municipalities, as a result of the efficient cooperation between Tetovo Municipality and Karatay Municipality, 100 containers were donated to be used in the environmental cleaning of Tetovo Municipality.

Mayor of Tetovo and TDBB Administrative Board Member Bilall Kasami, in his statement at the delivery of the containers, stated that this project is a concrete example of various programs and projects of Tetovo Municipality, which is a part of the Union of Turkish World Municipalities, to develop cooperation between local governments, friendly countries and sister municipalities. Kasami said, “Thanks to the efficient cooperation we have made with our sister city Karatay Municipality with this project, we have won the grant aid of 100 metal containers needed for the needs of our city. The Environmental Cleaning Unit will place the containers in suitable places and put them into service quickly. We would like to thank Union of Turkish World Municipalities and Mayor of Karatay Hasan Kılca for this grant and cooperation. We hope that with the launch of this project, our cooperation will deepen and we will continue to implement more activities and projects.”

The decision to carry out the “Provision of Materials Needed for Environmental Cleaning Project” requested by the Tetovo (North Macedonia) Municipality in cooperation with TDBB and Karatay (Konya) Municipality was taken at the TDBB Executive Board Meeting in May 2022.
