Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) May Executive Board Meeting was held on 12 May 2022, hosted by Beykoz Municipality.
The meeting, chaired by President of TDBB and Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality Uğur İbrahim Altay was attended by TDBB Secretary General Fahri Solak, TDBB Executive Board members, Mayor of Beykoz Murat Aydın, Mayor of Altındağ Asım Balcı, Mayor of Başiskele Mehmet Yasin Özlü, Mayor of Şahinbey Mehmet Tahmazoğlu and Mayor of Zeytinburnu Ömer Arısoy.
The meeting continued with TDBB Secretary General Fahri Solak giving information about the work carried out since the Administrative Board meeting on March 24, 2022 and the agenda, and discussion of the agenda items.
Within this framework, it was decided to carry out “4th Zeytinburnu Turkish World Story Festival” that will take place in Zeytinburnu between 02 and 04 June 2022 cooperatively by Zeytinburnu (Istanbul) Municipality and TDBB, to realize the “Provision of Materials Needed for Environmental Cleaning Project” requested by Tetovo (North Macedonia) Municipality in cooperation with TDBB and Karatay (Konya) Municipality, to sign a “Cooperation Protocol” between Uzbekistan National Ascension Institution and TDBB in order to develop the relations between the local governments of Turkey and Uzbekistan and to implement joint projects and activities, to work on establishing a sister city relationship between Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality and municipalities from the Central Asian Turkic Republics that are deemed appropriate, under the coordination of TDBB, to realize the Restoration Project of the Stone Mosque in Buzim (Bosnia and Herzegovina) Castle and the Project of Equipping the Bungalow House Built in the Srebrenica Nursing Home Center in cooperation with TDBB and Selçuklu (Konya) Municipality, to support “International Silk Road Symposium from the Past to the Future” to be held in Ankara between 06-08 October 2022 by Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University, to carry out a study to establish a sister city relationship between Selçuklu (Konya) Municipality and Nalaikh (Mongolia) Municipality under the coordination of TDBB, to participate on behalf of TDBB in the UCLG-MEWA Congress to be held in Konya between 25-27 May 2022, to submit the membership application made by the Municipality of Kakanj (Bosnia and Herzegovina) to our Union to the Administrative Board with a favorable opinion, to carry out work on organizing the Uzbekistan program for our Turkish members in the Autumn of 2022, to carry out work to organize TDBB’s July Executive Board Meeting in Kyrgyzstan, TDBB August Executive Board Meeting in Mongolia and TDBB September Executive Board Meeting in Uzbekistan.
