Mongolia’s Arkhangai Mayor Mishka Batjargal and the accompanying delegation visited Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) on April 11, 2022.

During the meeting held at the Union Headquarters with Secretary General Fahri Solak, Mayor of Arkhangai Mishka Batjargal, Arkhangai Municipal Council Chairman Batsuuri Batjargal and Mongolian Association of Local Authorities Secretary General Purevdorj Yanjinlkham took part.

Mayor of Arkhangai Mishka Batjargal thanked TDBB for the coordination in establishing sister city relations between Osmangazi Municipality and Arkhangai Municipality. Mishka said, “Arkhangai is a central provincial municipality with a population of 100 thousand and having 18 district municipalities. Most of the population is engaged in animal husbandry and the economic resource of our Municipality is animal husbandry. We would like to keep our relations alive from now on”.

TDBB Secretary General Fahri Solak expressed his gladness for the visit to the Union and thanked the Mayor and his delegation. Solak said, “TDBB has more than 30 members from Mongolia and Mongolia is represented on TDBB Administrative Board. This year, the General Assembly Meeting and the International Conference of Local Authorities will be held on 3-5 June 2022. We will visit Bursa with the conference participants. President Erdogan of Turkey is also expected to attend the General Assembly. As a Union, we welcome all our members from Mongolia. We expect support from other municipalities in Mongolia regarding TDBB membership. At the TDBB Administrative Board meeting in March, President of the Mongolian Association of Local Authorities invited TDBB delegation to Mongolia for August. We are planning to come to Mongolia if conditions allow. Such mutual visits will ensure the development of our relations with Mongolia, especially the sister city relations. Today, we should evaluate the existing common historical and cultural heritage with Mongolia for the development of our relations.”

The meeting ended with a photo shoot in memory of the visit, after the exchange of gifts.
