Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) March Administrative Board Meeting was held in Kilis, hosted by Kilis Municipality, on 24 March 2022 with the participation of local administrators from 5 different countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia and Turkey).

The meeting, under the chairmanship of President of TDBB and Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality Uğur İbrahim Altay, was attended by TDBB Secretary General Fahri Solak, TDBB Board members, Mayor of Kilis Servet Ramazan, General Manager of Albanian Municipalities Union Agron Haxhimalı, Bosnia and Herzegovina Mayor of Novi Grad Semir Efendiç, General Manager of Kyrgyzstan Union of Local Authorities Bekturgan Orozbaev, President of Union of Mongolian Municipalities Sundui Batbold, Mayor of Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality Ekrem Yüce, Mayor of Bağcılar Lokman Çağırıcı, Mayor of Şahinbey Mehmet Tahmazoğlu, Mayor of Şehzadeler Ömer Faruk Çelik, Mayor of Tavşanlı Mustafa Güler, and Mayor of Zeytinburnu Ömer Arısoy.

The meeting continued with TDBB Secretary General Fahri Solak giving information about the projects carried out since the Administrative Board meeting on 19 January 2022 and the agenda, and discussion of the agenda items.

Within this framework, it was decided to organize TDBB 6th Ordinary General Assembly Meeting to be held on 03 June 2022 at Atatürk Cultural Center (AKM) in Istanbul, to admit the Unions, if any, from the member countries to TDBB Administrative Board, to organize TDBB International Local Administrations Conference on 04-05 June 2022 in cooperation with Bursa Metropolitan Municipality in Bursa, the Cultural Capital of the Turkish World, to carry out Bosnia and Herzegovina “Mostar Cemal Biyedic University Student Dormitory Furnishing and Landscaping Project” in cooperation with TDBB, Konya Metropolitan and member municipalities, to give support by Konya Metropolitan Municipality and Selçuklu (Konya) Municipality to the “Renovation of 2 Buildings to be Used for Primary and High School Education in Sarajevo and Payment of Annual Rents” requested by the Turkish Maarif Foundation Presidency, to carry out work on the “Kiseljak-Kresevo Bosnian Youth and Culture Building Construction Project” requested by the Kiseljak Islamic Union of Bosnia and Herzegovina, to realize the “Reconstruction Project of the House Destroyed by the Occupants” requested by Hebron (Palestine) Municipality in cooperation with TDBB and Konya Metropolitan Municipality, to realize the “Project for Establishment of 1 Distillation Unit” requested by Tatlısu (TRNC) Municipality in cooperation with TDBB and its sister city Karatay (Konya) Municipality, to give financial support and to attend on behalf of TDBB to “512th Ajvatovica Festivals” that will be held in Bosnia and Herzegovina in June 2022, to organize a technical visit to Gracanica, Bosnia and Herzegovina to conduct an investigation on “Waste Collection and Storage” in 2022 by a technical committee to be formed in cooperation with TDBB and Başiskele (Kocaeli) Municipality, to organize the internship program for Kyrgyzstan-Turkey Manas University students between 01-29 July 2022 in Turkey, to give financial support and to attend on behalf of TDBB to “10th International Altai Communities Symposium” that will take place in Uzbekistan between 27 and 30 September 2022, to conduct study on the visit program planned to be carried out to Turkey in 2022 by the Municipality of Tearce (North Macedonia), to participate on behalf of TDBB in the “Commemoration of Osman Gazi and Conquest of Bursa Festival” to be held in Bursa between 08-10 April 2022 by Osmangazi (Bursa) Municipality, to send good practice examples of TDBB to be presented in the program titled “Localizing Sustainable Development Goals Through Decentralized Cooperation” to be held by UCLG-MEWA in Konya, to organize an experience sharing program under the coordination of TDBB in April 2022 in order to strengthen the relations between Kyrgyzstan’s Bishkek Metropolitan and Osh Municipalities and their sister cities in Turkey and within the framework of the aforesaid program, to organize sister city protocol signing ceremony between Bishkek Metropolitan Municipality and Konya Metropolitan Municipality.

 After the meeting, the members of the Administrative Board visited Kilis Municipality and then toured the historical and cultural sites of Kilis.
