The international conference on Better life conditions as a result of the joint work of the Local Government and the citizens, organized in cooperation with the Kyrgyz Republic Union of Local Authorities, the Kyrgyz Republic Public Service and Local Government Agency, the Central Asian Local Government Academy, and the participatory support of the Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) was held in Osh and Bishkek of Kyrgyzstan between February 28 and March 3, 2022.

In the International Conference attended by experts from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Latvia, Switzerland, Netherlands, Russian Federation, Mongolia and Turkey, Beykoz Municipality planning expert Osman Nuri Hafızoğlu under the coordination of Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) on “Participatory Planning in Spatial Planning – The Case of Turkey” made a presentation.

The conference focused on how citizens can participate in the budget process, planning the development of the economy, space and society, and citizens’ participation in the monitoring of the services provided.
Bekturgan Orozbaev, Secretary General of the Union of Local Authorities of Kyrgyzstan, in his speech said, “Cooperation of Local Administrators with the local people is very important in solving issues of local importance. The most important resource here is the local people. The more the people participate in the solution of local problems, the more valuable it will be. Our trainings, workshops and efforts that we made for years to develop local government have started to bear fruit.

Within the framework of the program, an exhibition on Local Government and cultural trips for the participants were also organized.
