In Bursa, member of Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB), which was elected as the 2022 Cultural Capital of the Turkish World, activities to promote Turkish culture throughout the year started with a gala concert held on January 27, 2022. The performances of folk dance teams with melodies performed by vocal and instrumental artists from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Turkey turned into a visual feast.

Bursa, the 10th city designated as the Cultural Capital of the Turkish World, hosted the music and dances of the Turkish world. The Gala concert held at Merinos Atatürk Congress and Culture Center (AKKM) was attended by Governor of Bursa Yakup Canbolat, Mayor of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Alinur Aktaş, Secretary General of Türksoy Dusen Kaseinov, Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Ankara Abzal Saparbekuly, Bursa deputies, mayors and many guests.

Hosting the gala, Alinur Aktaş said that as the Cultural Capital of the Turkish World, they were happy to embrace the guests from their ancestral lands. Aktaş stated that they will organize many events worthy of Bursa throughout the year and added, “From congresses and seminars to concerts and festivals, from cinema, theater and exhibitions to interviews, we will have a wide range of national and international events. The gala events, which started with the Mehter concert and the sword shield show, presented a visual feast to the guests with the stage decoration specially prepared for the night. In addition to the performances of vocal and instrumental artists from the Turkic Republics, folk dance performances were watched with admiration. In the colorful night, the anthem composed for 2022 Turkish World Culture Capital Bursa was presented to the guests.
