The 16th anniversary of the establishment of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina was celebrated with a reception organized by the Ankara Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina on December 8, 2021 and supported by the Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB).
The reception was attended by T.R. Chief of the General Staff Yaşar Güler, Deputy Minister of National Defense Muhsin Dere and military attaches of some countries.
Speaking at the ceremony that started with the playing of the national anthems of the two countries, Bosnia and Herzegovina Military Attaché Drljaca stated that despite the new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic, there was a high attendance at the reception. Emphasizing that this is an indication that the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina have gained a respectable reputation, Drljaca said, “After the establishment of the Armed Forces, with the devoted and diligent work of its members, Bosnia and Herzegovina has become a reliable partner at the international level in peacekeeping operations in various regions where there are crises in the world.”
Drljaca said that the Bosnia and Herzegovina Armed Forces’ showing the same devotion to the Bosnian people at home, especially in the floods of 2014, resulted in the saving of many civilians’ lives, while making it a very important stakeholder in natural disasters and humanitarian situations.
Underlining that all this could not happen without the support of friendly countries, Drljaca said, “Among these countries, the Republic of Turkey, the Turkish Armed Forces are among the closest friends and supporters of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Taking advantage of this opportunity, I would like to thank them all for their generous and unconditional support so far.”
After the speech, a cake was cut with the participation of the Chief of General Staff Güler and the Military Attaché of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Embassy in Ankara, Colonel Drljaca.
