Azamat Camankulov, Minister of Culture, Tourism and Information of the Kyrgyz Republic, and his delegation, who were in Istanbul for the Korkut Ata Turkish World Film Festival, visited the Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) on 13 November 2021.

Minister Azamat Camankulov, who met with Secretary General Fahri Solak at the headquarters of the Union, said in his speech, We are in Turkey due to the Turkic Council Summit and Korkut Ata Film Festival. We are very pleased to meet you, a close friend of Kyrgyzstan, here. We are planning to organize a few events in Turkey in 2022, especially the Kyrgyzstan Culture Days. In this context, we would like to cooperate with TDBB.

On the other hand, TDBB Secretary General Fahri Solak thanked Minister Camankulov for his visit to TDBB despite his busy schedule in Turkey and gave information about TDBB activities and the projects of the Union for Kyrgyzstan. Solak said, As TDBB, our relations with Kyrgyzstan are very good. We collaborated on many projects. We have realized many concrete projects and we continue to do so. TDBB is an international association working with 30 different countries. Kyrgyzstan is also represented in the TDBB Administrative Board, which includes 11 countries. As TDBB, we are ready to cooperate with Kyrgyzstan in the fields of culture, tourism and sister cities. We are ready to provide the necessary coordination with the member cities for the ‘Kyrgyzstan culture days’ events to be held in Turkey in 2022.

The visit ended with the presentation of the Turkish translation of the Epic of Manas, the longest epic in the world and translated into Turkish by TDBB, to the Minister, and taking a photo in memory of the day.
