In Kyrgyzstan, a member country of Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB), National Forum of Local Administrations and Central Governing Bodies was held on 21-22 October 2021, with the participation of President Sadir Caparov with wide participation.
The National Forum was attended by President of the Kyrgyz Republic, relevant Ministers, Governors, Mayors, District Governors, Heads of Public Institutions and local authorities. Secretary General Fahri Solak attended the forum on behalf of TDBB.
In the forum, the socio-economic situation of the country, the efficiency of the work of local government bodies, the increase of the authority and responsibilities of the governors and district governors were discussed.
President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadir Caparov, who attended the opening of the meeting, focused on important issues such as the public administration system, economic development and ensuring transparency in the elections in his comprehensive speech.
In the forum, awards were given to regional administrators at various levels for their contributions to the socio-economic development of the regions, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Local Government System. In addition, “Agrotechexpo 2021” agricultural products fair was held.
Interviews during the Visit
TDBB Secretary General Fahri Solak, within the scope of the Kyrgyzstan program, where he went for the National Forum invitation and the Project Opening Ceremony, met individually with the General Manager of the Kyrgyzstan Union of Local Authorities Bektur Orozbaev, the Kyrgyzstan Regional Development State Agency (GAR) General Manager Elchibek Cantaev and the Bishkek Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Aybek Cunuşaliev. During the meetings, Sister City Relations and joint project opportunities between Kyrgyzstan local governments and Turkish Municipalities were evaluated.
