Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) Executive Board delegation visited Gostivar Municipality and Studeniçan Municipality in North Macedonia on 24-25 September 2021 and Member Municipalities Coordination meeting was held.

North Macedonia visiting program, chaired by Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality and also President of TDBB Uğur İbrahim Altay, was attended by TDBB Secretary General Fahri Solak, Union’s Executive Members Mayor of Zeytinburnu Ömer Arısoy, Mayor of Başiskele Yasin Özlü and TDBB Administrative Board Member Mayor of Osmangazi Mustafa Dündar. 

On Friday, September 24, 2021, the first day of the program, the delegation visited Mayor of Studeniçan Azem Sadiki in his office. During the meeting, TDBB’s efforts and cooperation opportunities were evaluated. Unit managers of Studeniçan Municipality were also present during the visit.

On the second day of the program, Saturday, September 25, 2021, TDBB delegation visited Mayor of Gostivar and TDBB Administrative Board Member Arben Taravari in his office. After the visit, TDBB Executive Board Meeting was hosted by the Municipality of Gostivar. Afterwards, Vizyon University, which was established in Gostivar of Macedonia and provides Turkish Education, was visited. Then, the delegation attended the delivery ceremony of the park and garden furniture provided by Osmangazi Municipality to Gostivar Municipality.

After the ceremonies, the delegation went to the city of Tetovo and visited the Alaca Mosque.

Member Municipalities Coordination Meeting 

On the same day, TDBB North Macedonia Member Municipalities Coordination Meeting was held with the hosting of International Balkan University. In addition to TDBB delegation, the meeting was attended by Mayor of Gostivar Arben Taravari, Mayor of Studeniçan Azem Sadiki, Mayor of Jupa Ariyan İbraim and Rector of International Balkan University Prof. Dr. Mehmet Dursun Erdem. At the meeting, ideas were exchanged on the work to be done in order to develop active cooperation with the municipalities that are members of TDBB in North Macedonia.
