Lira Sıdıkova, the newly appointed Consul General of the Kyrgyz Republic in Istanbul, visited Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) on 8 July 2021.
In the meeting held with TDBB Secretary General Fahri Solak at the Headquarters of the Union, information was given about the work carried out by TDBB for the member municipalities of Kyrgyzstan so far. Expressing his satisfaction with the visit, Solak wished Lira Sıdıkova success in her new position. Stating that TDBB has members from 30 different countries, and that Kyrgyzstan is one of the countries with which they work closely and is represented in the Administrative Board, Solak added, “The reason of our establishment is to develop relations with the relevant countries. What we call the municipality touches people, the city. We are ready to give our best support for all projects that Kyrgyzstan officially approves.”
On the other hand, Consul General Lira Sıdıkova underlined the importance of the works TDBB has carried out and said, “In particular, it is of great importance that the ‘Epic of Manas’, which is one of the common values of the Turkish world and known as the longest epic in the world, is translated into Turkish by TDBB. I believe that the relations between TDBB and Kyrgyzstan will become stronger in the upcoming period and we will realize productive projects together. This year, we want to realize the projects on the 30th Anniversary of Independence and Chinghiz Aitmatov with TDBB.”
