The minibus purchased by Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) was delivered to Bosnia and Herzegovina Islamic Union (IZBiH) Student Center with a ceremony held in the capital Sarajevo.
The delivery ceremony of the vehicle was attended by TDBB Board Member and Mayor of Novi Grad Semir Efendic, Student Center Manager Muamer Tinjak and other guests.
In his statement at the ceremony, Semir Efendic stated that TDBB has implemented various projects all over the world, and reminded that one of these projects is the Glamoc Education and Culture Center built in 2019 in the city of Glamoc, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Efendic expressed his belief that the vehicle they delivered today will also contribute to the activities of the dormitory.
In the message sent to the ceremony by the Secretary General of TDBB Fahri Solak, the following was stated: “Bosnia and Herzegovina is one of the countries where Union of Turkish World Municipalities works closest. Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB), which has 31 members in Bosnia, is pleased to realize nearly 50 important projects by cooperating with non-governmental organizations and public institutions as well as municipalities. One of these institutions is Bosnia Islamic Union, with which we cooperate through various projects. We, as Union of Turkish World Municipalities, wish to be with you personally on this important day, but we regret that we could not be with you due to the pandemic conditions affecting the world. We hope to end the adverse conditions caused by the pandemic as soon as possible and to cooperate with both our members and other institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina on future projects. We would like to thank Konya Metropolitan Municipality, Beykoz and Selçuklu Municipalities and the Islamic Union Student Center, which are our cooperation institutions during the completion of this project.”
Student Center Director Tinjak stated that this donation is of great importance to them and said, “We are very happy to receive the keys of this vehicle, which we believe will be very useful for us. We would like to thank the institutions that have contributed, especially TDBB.
Bosnia and Herzegovina Islamic Union Student Center, which was built in cooperation with Republic of Turkey General Directorate of Foundations and Bosnia and Herzegovina Islamic Union Directorate of Foundations, and inaugurated on October 1, 2018, offers areas to students studying in Sarajevo where they can organize educational and cultural activities, in addition to accommodation.
