Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) Administrative Board Meeting was made on 20 January 2021, via video conference, with the participation of 21 local authorities from 8 different countries (Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kyrgyzstan, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), North Macedonia, Mongolia, Tatarstan and Turkey).
The meeting under the chairmanship of President of TDBB and also Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality Uğur Ibrahim Altay, was attended by TDBB Secretary General Fahri Solak, TDBB Administrative Board Members who are Mayor of Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Osman Zolan, Mayor of Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality Yücel Yılmaz, Mayor of Bosnia and Herzegovina Novi Grad Semir Efendic, President of Kyrgyzstan Local Governments State Agency Bahtiyar Saliyev, Mayor of Tatarstan Nizhnekamsk Aydar Metşin, Mayor of TRNC Güzelyurt Mahmut Özçınar, Secretary General of Union of Azerbaijan Municipalities Tofig Hasanov, Secretary General of Mongolia Association Garam Manadav, Mayor of Kilis Servet Ramazan, Mayor of Rize Rahmi Metin, Mayor of Bağcılar Lokman Çağırıcı, Mayor of Başiskele Mehmet Yasin Özlü, Mayor of Beykoz Murat Aydın, Mayor of Osmangazi Mustafa Dündar, Mayor of Pendik Ahmet Cin, Mayor of Selçuklu Ahmet Pekyatırmacı, Mayor of Silivri Volkan Yılmaz, Mayor of Tavşanlı Mustafa Güler, Mayor of Zeytinburnu Ömer Arısoy and Deputy Mayor of North Macedonia Gostivar Gzim Hacieyüp.
The meeting continued with the briefing of TDBB Secretary General Fahri Solak on the ongoing activities since the last Administrative Board Meeting on 20 October 2020 and the discussion of the meeting’s agenda.
Within this framework, it was decided to support of “Heated Greenhouse Facilities Project in Modiça, Bosnia and Herzegovina” by TDBB, to organize “Training Program for Cooperation of Local Governments with Private Sector” in 2021 in cooperation with TDBB and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Istanbul International Private Sector and Development Center (IICPSD), to start a necessary process in order to establish a sister city relationship between Şirvan (Azerbaijan) Municipality and Bayrampaşa Municipality and between Berde (Azerbaijan) Municipality and Beykoz Municipality, to carry out “the renovation project of a primary school in Kokoşçiçi Village of Bosnia” demanded by Vares (Bosnia and Herzegovina) in cooperation with TDBB and Selçuklu (Konya) Municipality, to conduct an experience sharing program for Mongolian Local Authorities themed “Municipalities’ Roles in the Pandemic Era”, to support monthly expenses of a dormitory built by Emmaus Association in Srebrenica city of Bosnia and Herzegovina during 2021 by TDBB, to give a support for Kyrgyzstan Talas State University to “Talas War and its Historical Impacts International Symposium” and provide a participation by TDBB, to support for “9th International Altaic Communities Symposium” in the dates of 27-30 September 2021 hosted by Osmangazi (Bursa) Municipality, to give a participation support for “ATRAX – 9th International Amusement, Attraction, Park & Recreation Exhibition” hosted by TUREKS in the dates of 08-10 April 2021, to give participation support for the “8th International Smart Grids and Cities Congress and Fair” which will be held in Istanbul between 04-05 June 2021, to start a necessary process in order to establish a sister city relationship between Umnugobi (Mongolia) Municipality and Isparta Municipality, to make the project of “Building a Bungalow House in Srebrenica Nursing Home Center” for the Emmaus International Foundation in cooperation with Beykoz Municipality, to start a necessary process in order to establish a sister city relationship between Darkhan (Mongolia) Municipality and Zeytinburnu Municipality and between Darkhan (Mongolia) Municipality and Gönen Municipality under the coordination of TDBB.
The membership requests of Kepsut (Balıkesir), Keşan (Edirne) and Jajce (Bosnia and Herzegovina) were also accepted in the meeting.
