Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) September Executive Board Meeting was held on September 8, 2020 in Kocaeli with the hosting of Başiskele Municipality. 

The meeting, under the chairmanship of President of TDBB and also Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality Uğur İbrahim Altay, was attended by Secretary General of TDBB Fahri Solak, Executive Board Members of Union who are Mayor of Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality Yücel Yılmaz, Mayor of Zeytinburnu Ömer Arısoy, Mayor of Beykoz Murat Aydın, Mayor of Bağcılar Lokman Çağırıcı, Mayor of Altındağ Asım Balcı and Mayor of Başiskele Yasin Özlü.

The meeting continued after TDBB Secretary General Fahri Solak gave information about the activities carried out since Executive Board Meeting on 14 August 2020 and discussed the issues on the agenda.

Within this framework, it was decided to participate in “Round Table Conference” that will take place via video-conference method on 18 September 2020 by Union of Russian Cities, to give transportation support for the moving of “Bilge Kagan Monument” made in Turkey for “Great Turkey Park”, opened in Moldova Gagauz Autonomous Region with the support of TDBB and member municipalities, to Gagauz Autonomous Region, to give support to “12th World East Turkestani Brotherhood Meeting” that will take place in Ankara between 26 and 28 September 2020, to give support to “5th Turkish World Documentary Film Festival” that will take place in Istanbul between 01 and 05 October 2020, to support “Turkish World Film Festival” that will take place in Istanbul between 21 and 25 November 2020 organized by International Cinema Association, to publish the books of “Soft Power and Public Diplomacy of Turkey in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Sanjak Region” and “Kara-Khanid Period Architecture and Decorations”.

In addition, TDBB delegation present in Kocaeli for Executive Board Meeting visited Mayor of Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Assoc. Dr. Tahir Büyükakın, Governor of Kocaeli Serdar Yavuz and Mayor of Başiskele Yasin Özlü in their offices and exchanged views.
