TDBB Mongolia Information and Experience Sharing Program, organized by Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) in cooperation with Konya Metropolitan Municipality, Bağcılar Municipality, Beykoz Municipality, IBB Kiptaş, Kültür A.Ş. and IBB Park and Gardens Directorate was completed after the presentations and site visits made in Konya and Istanbul between 24 and 30 August 2019.
The program was attended by Deputy Governor of Bayan-Ulgii Province Akhmadiya Kamyeliyat, Mayor of Mandalgobi city Munkhtogtokh Rentsen, Head of legal department of Provincial government office of Bayan-Ulgii Khuralai Usurkhan, Head of Emergency department of Provincial government office of Bayan-Ulgii Ankhbayar Battsengel, Head of Criminology Department Sukhbat Dorjsuren, Investigator of Provincial Civil registration department of Bayan-Ulgii Yerkyegul Aralkhan, Deputy governor of 165th grade border Syerjant Dalyelkhan, Head of 165th grade border Ochir Narankhuu, Senior staff of Immigration agency in Bayan-Ulgii province Battsetseg Ganbold, Deputy governor of Dundgobi province Jambalsuren Munkhchuluun, Head of Red cross committee of Dundgobi province Gasrandorj Bayaraa.
On the first section of the program, which in between 25 and 27 August 2019, the delegation visited Konya Metropolitan Municipality and examined the works on urbanism, urban development, city planning and landscape and then they paid a visit to Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality Uğur İbrahim Altay. Mayor Altay expressed the pleasure that they have a visit from the Mongolian delegation and posited that growing dialog between the municipalities was the reflection of the growing relations of the two countries. Mayor Altay also put forward that “We are, as TDBB, working closely with the municipalities in Mongolia in particular. Turkey has recently made a significant progress on municipalism and local governments. We are very pleased to share this knowledge and experience with our friendly and brother countries”.
Deputy Governor of the city of Bayan-Ulgii of Mongolia Kamyeliyat Akhmadiya assumed that they want to strengthen ties by establishing a sister city relationship with Konya and thanked Mayor Altay for hosting them in their municipality.
On the second section of the program which was held in Istanbul, the delegation visited IBB European Side Parks and Gardens Directorate on 28 August 2019 Wednesday and listened to the presentation on “Green Area Management in Municipalities” and then made a site visit at AĞAÇ A.Ş. On the same day, participants visited Mayor of Beykoz Murat Aydın and listened to the presentation on “Real Estate, Tax and Land Registry Issues in Municipalities” and then they made a site visit.
On the fourth day of the program, the delegation visited KİPTAŞ. The delegation listened to the presentation on Housing Production in Municipalities and made a site visit. On the same day, the participants visited Bağcılar Municipality and met with Mayor of Bağcılar Lokman Çağırıcı. The delegation listened to the presentation on “Urban Development Projects in Municipalities” and made a site visit in Bağcılar.
On the last day of the program, on 30 August 2019 Friday, the participants visited the Blue Mosque and the square, the Panorama Museum and Turkish World Culture Houses. On the same day afternoon, delegation visited TDBB Headquarters. The group met with TDBB Secretary General Fahri Solak at Union’s headquarters and was informed about the activities of TDBB. Afterwards, the program was completed by presenting the certificates to the participants with a ceremony at TDBB Headquarters.
