Eighth of ‘International Altaic Communities Symposium’, organized biennially for the purpose of better understanding of Altaic communities’ civilization structure and cultural values, was held in Bishkek and Issık-Göl cities of Kyrgyzstan between 19 and 23 August 2019, with the main theme of “Animal and Livestock Culture”.

The opening Ceremony of the symposium was attended by Head of Kyrgyzstan Presidency Administration Dosalı Esanaliyev, Ambassador of Republic of Turkey in Kyrgyzstan Cengiz Kamil Fırat, Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) Administrative Board Member and also Mayor of Osmangazi Mustafa Dündar, Head of Association of Turkish History Prof. Dr. Refik Turan, Dean of Faculty of Humanities of Mongolia Academy of Sciences Prof. Dr. Enkhbat Avirmet and many other scholars.

Organized under the aegis of President of Kyrgyzstan and with the support of “Muras” Foundation of Presidency of Kyrgyzstan, Kyrgyz Academy of Sciences Institute of History, and also Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB), Association of Turkish History, TURKSOY, International Turkish Academy, Istanbul 29 Mayıs University and Bursa Osmangazi Mayor’s Office, the symposium was participated by more than 200 scholars from various countries like Turkey, Russia, USA, Japan, China, South Korea, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.

The symposium was made in 30 sessions under the theme of “Animal and Livestock Culture”. The presentations made in the symposium will be presented to the participants in printed version at the symposium that will be organized two years later.

After the evaluations made by Altaic Academicians Union’s related Boards, it has been also decided that the symposium in 2020 will be organized under a specific theme in Bursa with the hosting of Bursa Osmangazi Municipality.
