Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) June Executive Board Meeting was held at TDBB Headquarters in Istanbul on 19 June 2019, Wednesday.
The meeting, under the chairmanship of President of TDBB and also Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality Uğur İbrahim Altay, was participated by Secretary General of TDBB Fahri Solak, TDBB Executive Board Members who are Mayor of Zeytinburnu Ömer Arısoy, Mayor of Beykoz Murat Aydın, Mayor of Bağcılar Lokman Çağırıcı, Mayor of Şahinbey Mehmet Tahmazoğlu, Mayor of Altındağ Asım Balcı and Mayor of Başiskele Yasin Özlü.
After Secretary General of TDBB Fahri Solak gave information about the conducted activities and the agenda since the last meeting of Executive Board on 3 May 2019, the meeting continued with the discussion of the issues from the agenda.
Within this framework, it was decided to participate the opening ceremony of “Bosnia and Herzegovina Glamoç Education and Culture Center” in 28 July 2019 from the members of the Executive Board and the municipalities that contributed to the project, to organize programs for Azerbaijan, Palestine, Kyrgyzstan and Mongolia within the framework of 2019 UYEM Programs, to start necessary process to build sister city relationship with Teocak Municipality from Bosnia and Herzegovina and one of member municipalities of TDBB, to evaluate the demand of garbage truck of Teocak Municipality within the framework of sister city relationship, to give participation from our Union to “509th Ajvatovica Festival” which will be held on 30 June 2019 which was also supported by our Union, to participate “6th UCLG-MEWA Congress” by TDBB President and Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality Uğur İbrahim Altay and Mayor of Bağcılar Lokman Çağırıcı on behalf of our Union which will be held on 9-10 July 2019 in Jordan, to evaluate the restoration project of “Babur State Academic Uzbek Music and Drama Theater” in Osh city of Kyrgyzstan within the framework of sister city relations, to give participation support to “CITYTECH 2019 – 13th International Urbanism and Environment Fair” which will be held in Ankara in the dates of 7-9 November 2019, to decide the next Administrative Board Meeting in 24 July 2019 which will be made with the hosting of Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality.
Besides in the meeting, the membership requests of Karatay (Konya), Meram (Konya), Aydıncık (Mersin), Kljuc (Bosnia and Herzegovina) Municipalities were decided to present the Administrative Board with compliance.
