Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) and sister city Selçuklu Municipality cooperatively supported Beit Hanoun city of Palestine with fuel assistance.
Upon the request from TDBB’s member municipality Beit Hanoun Municipality from Palestine, it was decided to supply fuel to Beit Hanoun Municipality in cooperation with its sister city Şelçuklu Municipality at TDBB Administrative Board Meeting.
Project was carried out by Turkish Red Crescent, though the financial responsibility was on TDBB and Selçuklu Municipality.
Beit Hanoun
Beit Hanoun is located on the north-east coast of the Gaza-Strip, the city with a population of 32.187 according to the data of 2006. Beit Hanoun is governed by the Palestinian National Authority. It is located near the Hanoun River which is 6 km away from Sderot city of Israel.
Palestinian Beit Hanoun Municipality became the member of Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) in 2012. Moreover, Selçuklu Municipality and Beit Hanoun has a sister city and cooperation agreement in 2011.
