The 13th anniversary of the establishment of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina organized by the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Turkey and supported by the Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) was celebrated on December 12, 2018, in Ankara.

The ceremony hosted by Bakir Sadovic, Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina, was attended by the Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar, Chief of General Staff Gen. Yaşar Güler, Commander of the Land Forces Gen. Ümit Dündar, mission chiefs at the capital, military officials, business people, academicians and the members of the press.

In his speech at the reception, Sadovic said that BiH’s Armed Forces Day had begun to be celebrated 13 years ago. He said that thanks to self-sacrificing and diligent work of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina it has become a reliable partner in peacekeeping operations in various regions of the world.

Sadovic who underlined the importance of the support given by Turkey as a friendly country also said how “Turkish Armed Forces are one of the closest friends and supporters of Bosnia-Herzegovina and Armed Forces of BiH”.

The reception ended after the speeches and cutting the celebration cake.
