Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) October Administrative Board Meeting was held in Kocaeli on 24 October 2018, Wednesday hosted by Gebze Municipality with the participation of local officials from 7 different countries (Bosnia and Herzegovina, TRNC, Kyrgyzstan, Macedonia, Mongolia, Tatarstan and Turkey).

The meeting, under the chairmanship of President of TDBB and Mayor of Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality İbrahim Karaosmanoğlu, was attended by Secretary General of TDBB Fahri Solak, TDBB Administrative Board Members who are Mayor of Gebze Adnan Köşker, Mayor of Nalaikh (Mongolia) Khaan Sharavkhaan, Mayor of Novi Grad (Bosnia and Herzegovina) Semir Efendiç, Mayor of Güzelyurt (TRNC) Mahmut Özçınar, Mayor of Ordu Metropolitan Municipality Engin Tekintaş, Mayor of Bolu Alaaddin Yılmaz, Mayor of Düzce Dursun Ay, Mayor of Bağcılar Lokman Çağırıcı, Mayor of Bayrampaşa Atila Aydıner, Mayor of Kartepe Hüseyin Üzülmez, Mayor of Selçuklu Ahmet Pekyatırmacı, Mayor of Şahinbey Mehmet Tahmazoğlu, Mayor of Sancaktepe İsmail Erdem, Mayor of Ümraniye Hasan Can, Mayor of Hendek İrfan Püsküllü, along with Mayor of Bihaç Suhret Fazlic, Chief Advisor of Republic of Tatarstan Representative Office of Turkey Hakan Coşkun, Macedonia Ohrid Municipality Director of Substructure Department Erdin Dalip and Macedonia Ohrid Municipality Advisor of Mayor Ilker Mustafa.

Bihac Monument Cooperation Protocol was signed

Before the discussion of the meeting’s agenda, TDBB and Bihac Municipality of Bosnia and Herzegovina signed a protocol for the construction of ‘Bihac Monument’ which will be made in remembrance of Bihac city martyrs in Bosnian War.

After the signing ceremony, the meeting continued with the briefing of Secretary General of TDBB Fahri Solak on the ongoing activities since the last Administrative Board Meeting on 18 July 2018 and the discussion of the meeting’s agenda.

Within this framework, it was decided to organize Information and Experience Sharing Program for the officials of Kyrgyzstan Presidency of Ethnic Relations State Agency between 25 November and 01 December 2018 cooperatively by TDBB and Member Municipalities, to give support to Primary School Repairment Project in Srebrenic city of Bosnia and Herzegovina by TDBB, to carry out Stationery Aid Project for the needy students in Zeytinburnu district cooperatively by TDBB and Zeytinburnu Municipality, to carry out “Alija Izetbegovic Commemoration Program on 15th Year of His Decease” cooperatively with Izzetbegoviç Museum and TDBB on 14 December 2018 at Zeytinburnu Culture and Arts Center, to carry out “Smart Bicycle Renting Project” planned to be implemented by Ohrid (Macedonia) Municipality in cooperation with Zeytinburnu Municipality, to organize information and experience sharing program on Smart City Management for officials and authorities of Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan) Metropolitan Municipality, to organize “Chingiz Aitmatov Commemoration Program on 90th Year of His Birth” cooperatively by Istanbul Consul General of Republic of Kyrgyzstan and TDBB on 09 November 2018, to carry out “Fuel Support Project” requested by TDBB Member Beyt Hanun Municipality from Palestine cooperatively with TDBB and its sister city Selçuklu (Konya) Municipality, to carry out “Integration of Romans” of TDBB Member Bijelo Polje from Montenegro cooperatively with TDBB and Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, to organize ‘TDBB 5th Ordinary General Meeting’ after the local elections on March 2019, to implement the coordination of Sisak (Crotia) Municipality and Zeytinburnu Municipality’s anticipated sister city relation by TDBB, and to carry out a work related to ‘Çanakkale Martyrdom Monument’ project in Sarajevo cooperatively by TDBB, Ümraniye Municipality and Stari Grad (Bosnia and Herzegovina) Municipality.

New Members

Besides in the meeting, the membership requests of Jetisay (Kazakhstan) and Governorate of Govisumber (Mongolia) to TDBB were accepted.

Next Administrative Board Meeting will be in Ümraniye

It was decided that Next Administrative Board Meeting in January of 2019 will be held in Istanbul, hosted by Ümraniye Municipality.
