The technical equipments (16 laptops, 16 projectors and screens) bought by Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) were granted to Gostivar Municipality of Macedonia at the ceremony held on 21 September 2018, for the utilization of the schools in the city.
The ceremony was attended by Mayor of Gostivar Arben Taravari and Secretary General of TDBB Fahri Solak, along with the officials of the municipality, principals and teachers of the schools and other guests. The technical equipments were handed over four schools, including Gostivar Mustafa Kemal Atatürk Secondary School.
During the speech he made at the ceremony, Mayor of Gostivar Arben Taravari said that he has felt pleased for the granting of laptops and projectors needed at schools. Thanking TDBB for the purchase of the equipments and Turkish Airlines for the support given for the transfer of the materials to Gostivar Taravari added, “We have close relations with TDBB. In August, we organized ‘Festival of Forgotten Values’ in our city with the coordination and support of TDBB. I believe that the cooperation between our municipality and TDBB will develop gradually. We will continue to cooperate for different future projects.”
On the other hand, Secretary General of TDBB Fahri Solak stated that TDBB carries out projects on education and culture, in addition to municipalism, and that technical support given to educational institutions in Gostivar is just an example of this. He also added that city of Gostivar is among the members of Macedonia which has close cooperation with TDBB and also one of the unique cities where Turkish is accepted as one of the official languages.
After the ceremony the schools at the city were visited, the teachers and the students met with the guests.
Meeting with the Mayors of Dolneni and Jelino
Within the framework of Macedonia visit, Secretary General of TDBB Fahri Solak met with Mayor of Dolneni Xhemil Qamili and Mayor of Jelino Blerim Seydi individually. During the meetings, the mayors were informed about TDBB and its projects and also the opportunities of cooperation were evaluated.
