Mustafa Ak, Mayor of Keçiören Municipality which is an Administrative Board Member of Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB), and the delegation accompanying him paid official visits to their sister municipalities in Kazakhstan between 29 and 31 August 2018, and in Kyrgyzstan between 1 and 2 September 2018.
During the official visits in Kazakhstan, the delegation of Keçiören attended the introductory meeting of the works of Kazakhstan’s famous authors who are Berdibek Sokpakbayev (My Name is Elderly), Tayır Jomartbayuli (Let’s See the Girl), Sultanmaxmut Torayğırulı (Beautiful Moon), Sıpandiyar Köbeyuli (Hat), Mirjaqip Duwlatuli’nin (Unlucky Camal) held at Almaty National Library, whom they made contribution for Turkish translation.
Keçiören Street was inaugurated in Kazakhstan
Later on, Ak and the accompanying delegation attended the opening ceremony of Keçiören Street in Jambıl Uzunağaç and placed a wreath on Jambıl Jabayev monument with Mayor of Jambıl Bağdat Aliyev and other protocol members.
Underlining the fact that Keçiören and Jambıl have signed sister city protocol, Mayor of Keçiören Mustafa Ak said, “I thank Kazakhstan for the hospitality and kindness shown to us. Kazakhstan is our native land. We feel ourselves at home.” Reminding that Jambıl, Turkestan, Almaty and Jetisu are sister municipalities of Kazakhstan, Ak added, “Opening the Park and Monument dedicated to Kazakhstan’s most famous bard and master in song competition Suyinbay Aronuli in Esertepe District we, in a way, have brought Asian and Anatolian Turks together. We organized a symposium for the 170th Birth Anniversary of famous Kazakh bard and master in song competition Jambıl Jabayev and honor his memory in one of the streets. In International Ramadan Events we introduce Kazakhstan culture. We show great effort to strengthen our brotherhood with experience sharing programs, training programs, friendship concerts, Astana Days and other various cultural programs.”
On the other hand Mayor of Jambıl Bağdat Aliyev emphasized the fact that the brotherhood with Keçiören will be reinforced and reminded that the name of Jambıl Jabayev is honored in Keçiören. The delegation of Keçiören Municipality visited the museums and monuments of Jambıl Jabayev and Süyinbay Aronulı and also attended Kazakhstan’s Traditional Horse Race Ceremonies.
The delegation of Keçiören visited its Kyrgyz Sister City Karakol
Later on the delegation went to Kyrgyzstan and visited Keçiören’s sister city, Karakol of Issık Göl. Here Ak met with Governor of Issıkgöl Osmonaliev Akylbek and Mayor of Karakol Daniiar Arpachiev and stated that mutual cooperation and experience sharing will continue. After the official visits, the delegation of Keçiören Municipality attended 3rd World Nomad Games’ Opening Ceremony, which was also participated by President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Ceenbekov, President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and President of Tatarstan Rüstem Minnihanov.
