‘The seventh of the International Altaic Communities Symposium, with a theme of Traditions, Customs, Morals and Law’ held every two years to provide a better understanding of the civilization structure and cultural values of the Altaic communities was held in Ulaanbaatar – capital of Mongolia, on 6-10 August 2018.
The Symposium was organized in Mongolian Academia of Sciences and Mongolian University of Science and Technology with support of Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB), TIKA, TURKSOY, Bağcılar, Beyoğlu, Kırşehir and Küçükçekmece Municipalities, Istanbul 29 Mayıs University, Meiji University (Japan), Istanbul Union of Chambers of Tradesmen and Artisans.
The symposium was held in 40 sessions on several subjects and issues such as naming, burying traditions in Altaic communities, values of communities’ judicial system, their daily routines, similarities, differences and interactions among the communities. The symposium was held with the participation of more than 150 scientists, particularly from Turkey and Mongolia, Azerbaijan, China, South Korea, India, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Russia, the United States and several European countries.
The participants also visited ancient Turkish monuments and cultural sites in Mongolia.
