The 10th Tomato Festival was held in Mamusha, member of the Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) and Kosovo’s only Turkish-majority municipality, on July 24, 2018.
The Festival was attended by Minister of Public Administration of Kosovo and Chairman of Turkish Democratic Party of Kosovo (KDTP) Mahir Yağcilar, Ambassador of Republic of Turkey in Kosovo Kıvılcım Kılıç, Secretary General of the TDBB Fahri Solak, Mayor of Mamusha Abdülhadi Krasniç, Consul General of Turkey in Prizren Eylem Altunyan, TIKA Coordinator for Kosovo Hasan Burak Ceren, former Mayor of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Recep Altepe and many other guests.
Mayor of Mamusha Abdülhadi Krasniç said the importance agricultural workers give for growing their products should be given to the education of their children as well.
The Minister of Public Administration of Kosovo and the Chairman of the KDTP Mahir Yağcilar, who participated in the festival, expressed his satisfaction with the fact that this festival is organized 10th time by Mamusha. He said; “The Tomato Festival is a kind of opening to the world four you precious Mamushans. Mamusha is one of the historic towns. It sets an example outside Kosovo with its products. “
Turkey’s Ambassador to Kosovo Kıvılcım Kılıç said how Mamushans and its agricultural laborers are rightfully proud of the products they have grown with great effort, diligence and meticulousness and expressed his joy in sharing this pride, calling the Kosovan Turks to live in unity.
The festival started with the visit to Martyr’s Cemetary in Mamusha. After the opening speeches, the festival continued with the performance of folklore groups from Kosovo and Turkey at the Mamusha square and ended with the introduction of Thank you Plaques.
