Keçiören Municipality, the board member of the Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB), hosted 9th International Ramadan Program between May 17 and June 14, 2018, under the principle of brotherhood beyond borders. Twenty countries have participated in the program.
Twenty countries from Turkeys heart geography were hosted at the 9th International Ramadan Program. The program was attended by the TDBB member states like Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Moldova, Gagauzia, Macedonia, TRNC, Iraq, Palestine, Ukraine, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Somalia, as well as by the the delegations from Sudan, Indonesia, Iran, Uzbekistan, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Western Thrace and Uighur Turks.
The opening program that was held at the Kalaba City Square was hosted by Mayor of Keçiören Mustafa Ak. It was attended by MPs, officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ambassadors, foreign missions representatives, administrators of the brother municipalities, NGO representatives and citizens.
Mustafa Ak, stating that the first day of the Ramadan was attributed to the memories of Palestine, Jerusalem, and martyrs, also said; Thank you Lord for allowing us to reach the Ramadan. I wish Ramadan will bring beautiful things to our country and the whole Islamic world. We perform the 9th International Ramadan Program. We say ‘brotherhood beyond limits’ because we are experiencing the month of Ramadan in Keçiören with our Muslim brothers with whom we share the belief in the same God, the same Prophet the same religion.Since the first day, Holy Qur’an was recited, the religious songs were sung in the presence of the chorus, prays were performed, concerts consisting of masterpieces from Anatolian and Turkic cultures were performed, local Turkish folk songs were sung in the area arranged at Kalaba City Square. The Culture Houses of the countries was opened. Local folk dances from other countries that were performed added an extra color to the 9th International Ramadan Program.
