Sister city protocol was signed between Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality which is a member of Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) and Almetyevsk Municipality from Republic of Tatarstan, with a ceremony on 26 April 2018.
The ceremony was participated by President of TDBB and also Mayor of Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality İbrahim Karaosmanoğlu, Mayor of Almetyevsk from Republic of Tatarstan Ayrat Hayrullin, officials from Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality and Almetyevsk Municipality.
Our Unity will be Stronger
Mayor of Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality İbrahim Karaosmanoğlu pointed out the good relationship with the Turkic world and said that “We are carrying on our togetherness and relationship in order to preserve our historical links. Thanks to this sister city protocol that we will going to make with Almetyevsk Municipality, this togetherness will be more strengthened”.
“We Want to Profit from Experiences”
Mayor of Almetyevsk from Tatarstan Ayrat Hayrullin underlined the similarities between his city and Kocaeli and expressed that “Our city is an industrial city like Kocaeli. Kocaeli has developed structures and a green nature. We want to profit from your experiences. Within this framework, I would like to thank to Mayor of Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Ibrahim Karaosmanoğlu for his kind cooperation”.
Roadmap will be Planned
After the speeches, the sister city protocol was signed. Within the framework of the protocol, it is decided that organizing an experience sharing and expert training programs and various projects by following a roadmap on economic, social and transportation areas. In the project making process, services will be sustained in a cooperation with public institutions, local organizations, non-governmental organizations, chambers of commerce and industry, educational institutions, international organizations and other related organizations.
