Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) April Administrative Board Meeting was held in Selçuklu on 18 April 2018 Wednesday, hosted by Selçuklu Municipality.
The meeting, under the chairmanship of President of TDBB and also Mayor of Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality İbrahim Karaosmanoğlu, was participated by TDBB Secretary General Fahri Solak, TDBB Administrative Board Members who are Mayor of Selçuklu Uğur İbrahim Altay, Mayor of Nizhnekamsk (Republic of Tatarstan) Aydar Metshin, Mayor of Güzelyurt (TRNC) Mahmut Özçınar, Mayor of Bolu Alaaddin Yılmaz, Mayor of Zeytinburnu Murat Aydın, Mayor of Düzce Dursun Ay, Mayor of Kartepe Hüseyin Üzülmez, Mayor of Şahinbey Mehmet Tahmazoğlu, Mayor of Keçiören Mustafa Ak, Mayor of Sancaktepe İsmail Erdem, Mayor of Ümraniye Hasan Can and Mayor of New Tisin (Kirkuk, Iraq) Nejdet Şükrü Akkoyunlu.
The meeting continued with TDBB Secretary General Fahri Solak’s giving information about the activities and agenda since the last Administrative Board Meeting held on 17 January 2018 and with the discussion on the other issues in the agenda.
Within this framework, it was decided to supply 16 laptops and projector by TDBB which were demanded for the use of students in high school level in Gostivar (Macedonia), to carry out probable common projects with TDBB members in Iraq Telafer (Mosul) and New Tisin (Kirkuk) Municipalities, to organize Information and Experience Sharing Programs for members of Kyrgyzstan Local Governments Association and Mongolia Bayan-Ulgii Municipality delegation in 2018, to supply a garbage truck demanded by Studeničani (Macedonia) Municipality in cooperation with TDBB and sister city Altınova (Yalova) Municipality, to give support to “508th Ajvatovica Festival” which will be held in Bosnia and Herzegovina, to give internship opportunity for Kyrgyzstan-Turkey Manas University students in the Summer Term of 2018, to support “4th International Festival of Forgotten Values” in the Macedonian city of Gostivar in August 2018 by our Union which will be organized by Kartepe Municipality, to give participation support to “10th Communication with Future Workshop’ organized by RTUK that will be held in Uzbekistan between 06 and 12 May 2018, to arrange sister city protocols between Sancaktepe Municipality and Balykchy (Kyrgyzstan) Municipality and Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality and Almetyevsk (Tatarstan) Municipality with the coordination of our Union, to open the mosque in Kyrgyzstan Issık Göl region in Ramadan of 2018, which was constructed with the coordination of TDBB and Member Municipalities, for worship, to give participation support to “6th International Smart Grids and Cities Congress and Fair” to be held in Istanbul between 25 and 26 April 2018 and “EIF 2018 – 11th International Energy Congress and Expo” to be held between 08 and 09 November 2018 in Ankara, to give support by our Union to “7th International Altaic Communities Symposium” that will be held on August 6-10, 2018 in Mongolia, to organize a promotion and an exhibition for the book “Aleppo in Ottoman Archieves”, printed as a TDBB publications in Gaziantep, to organize Expert Training Program for pre-school educators from Gagauz Autonomous Republic, Moldova, to give participation support to “1st National Early Childhood Development Forum” to be held on 15-16 May 2018 in Kyrgyzstan, to give support by our Union for “III. Turkic World Documentary Film Festival”, to collect tender offers from the companies for the construction of “Atatürk Park Renewal Project” in cooperation with Bishkek Metropolitan Municipality, Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality and TDBB.
New Members
Besides in the meeting, the membership requests of Taşköprü (Kastamonu), Türkeli (Sinop), Sheberghan (Afghanistan), Gradačac (Bosnia and Herzegovina) Municipalities and Palestine’s Al Karmil, Al Nasser, Wadi Gaza, Abasan Al Kabira, Abasan Al Jadida, Um Al Nasser, Beit Lahia, Deir Al Balalh, Al Zahra, Union of Gaza Region Municipalities; Al Moghraka, Al Shuka, Khuza’a, Al Qarara, Al-Buraij, Al Fukhari, Al Musadderc and Almaghazi Municipalities were accepted.
Next Administrative Board Meeting will be in Düzce
It was decided in the meeting that next Administrative Board Meeting in July of 2018 will be made with the hosting of Düzce Municipality.
