International Solidarity Forum – Emmaus Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina celebrated its 19th anniversary with a ceremony held on April 7, 2018, in Doboj Istok. Plaques of appreciation were presented at the ceremony to international organizations that supported the projects carried out by the association in 2017. Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) was among the first to receive a plaque of appreciation.

The ceremony was attended by the Association’s managers, member of the Administrative Board of the Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) and Mayor of Novi Grad Semir Efendic, Mayor of Doboj Istok, a member of the TDBB, Kemal Bratic, Minister of Labor, Refugees and Social Policy of the Tuzla Canton Sandra Memic, and a large number of volunteers that have contributed to the works of the EMMAUS.

Mayor of Novi Grad Semir Efendic, acting on behalf of the TDBB, was awarded a Plaque of Appreciation for the support of the TDBB to EMMAUS. TDBB supported many projects in the cooperation with EMMAUS Association such as Doboj Istok youth center, Doboj Istok bungalow houses and financial support for Srebrenica student dormitory.

A presentation about the activities of the Association in 2017 was presented to the participants of the program. It was announced that the Association has delivered help to more than 12 thousand people in 2017 and thanked everyone for the support. In this context, the Chairman of EMMAUS’s Administrative Board, Aziz Smajlovic, presented prizes to 41 people. At the same time, awards for ‘the most successful volunteer’ and ‘the most successful employee’ of the EMMAUS were presented.

The event also included a theater piece ‘Stubbornly success’ and Bosnia’s famous Sevdalinka concert. The program ended with a dinner in music accompaniment.
