Union of Turkish World Municipalitys (TDBB) March Executive Board Meeting and the 2018 Supervisory Board Meeting were held at the Unions Headquarters in Istanbul on Wednesday, 21 March 2018.
The meeting that was presided by İbrahim Karaosmanoğlu, Mayor of Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality and president of the TDBB, was also attended by the members of TDBB Executive Board; Mayor of Zeytinburnu Municipality Murat Aydın, Mayor of Bağcılar Municipality Lokman Çağırıcı, Mayor of Selçuklu Municipality Uğur İbrahim Altay, Mayor of Şahinbey Municipality Mehmet Tahmazoğlu, Mayor of Beykoz Municipality Yücel Çelikbilek, TDBB Secretary-General Fahri Solak and TDBB’s Supervisory Board members; Mayor of Akyazı Municipality (Sakarya) Hasan Akcan and Mayor of Kandıra Municipality (Kocaeli) Unal Köken.
The meeting that started with the briefing of TDBB Secretary- General Fahri Solak regarding the activities and agenda between February 21st and March 21st, 2018, continued with the discussions on the agenda items.
In context it was decided, to organize a coordination meeting with TDBBs Iraqi members Talafar, Mosul and New Tisin Municipalities, to organize a knowledge and experience sharing program with the members of Kyrgyzstan Local Authorities Union in 2018, to realize the project of purchasing 1 garbage truck requested by the Studeniçani Municipality of Macedonian in cooperation of our Union with sister city Altinova (Yalova) Municipality, to give financial support by the TDBB to Bosnia and Herzegovinas 508. Ajvatovica Festival, to organize ‘4th International Festival of Forgotten Values ‘ in the Macedonian city of Gostivar in August 2018, with the cooperation of Kartepe Municipality and TDBB, to support by the Union ’10th Communication with Future Workshop organized by the RTÜK that will be held in Uzbekistan in May 2018, to support by our Union 7th International Altaic Communities Symposium that will be held on August 6-10, 2018 in Mongolia, to publish the book titled ‘Common Heritage’ as a TDBB Publication and organize a promotion and exhibition for the book “Aleppo in Ottoman Documents” printed as a TDBB publications, to held in Antalya between 30-31 March 2018 the workshop regarding the Humanitarian Cities Project that is running in cooperation of TDBB and RWI, to start implementation work for Atatürk Park Renovation Project that will realized by the cooperation of Bishkek Metropolitan Municipality, Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality and the TDBB.
Also, it was decided that the membership applications of Sheberghan municipality (Afghanistan), Gaza Strip Municipality Union (Palestine), and the municipalities of Beit Lahia (Palestine), Um Al Nasser (Palestine), Al Shuka (Palestine), El Nasser (Palestine), Deir El Balalh (Palestine), Khuzaa Palestine), Abasan Al Kabira (Palestine), Abasan Al Jadida (Palestine), Al Qarara (Palestine), Al Zahra (Palestine), Buraij (Palestine), Al Fukhari (Palestine), Al Musadderc (Palestine), Al Moghraka (Palestine), Almaghazi (Palestine) and Wadi Gaza (Palestine) made to our Association should be submitted to the Board of Directors.
