Sister City Protocol was signed between the Members of Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) Naryn Municipality from Kyrgyzstan and Kastamonu Municipality on 5 February 2018.
To the meeting which organized in Kastamonu, Mayor of Kastamonu Tahsin Babaş, Mayor of Naryn Emilbek Alymkulov, Rector of Naryn State University Prof. Dr. Damira Omuraliyeva, Head of City Council of Naryn Municipality Jyrgalbek Botokanov, Protocol Director of Governorate of Naryn Nurbek Satarov, Deputy Director of Kyrgyzstan Contemplation Foundation Maksat Acykan Uulu and other visitors were attended.
Mayor of Kastamonu during the ceremony stated that “We have decided to become sister cities as these two city’s mayors. After this, we are going to accomplish the necessary procedure in our City Councils. This year, due to the fact that Kastamonu was designated as cultural Cultural Capital of the Turkic World, we would like to establish a park in Naryn as Kastamonu Municipality. These activities are very significant aspect of strengthening our relations. Approximately 2000 students from Turkic World has been educated in Kastamonu and this is very important advantage for us. Also, there are several different programs about Turkic World has been taught in our university.
Mayor of Naryn Emilbek Alymkulov, in his speech underlined the important agreements which were taken between Turkish delegation which came to Kyrgyzstan and Governor of Naryn and he said “after this, Governor of Naryn visited Kastamonu. Now, we visited Kastamonu in order to actualize these negotiations. There are similarities between Naryn and Kastamonu, our planning of the city and way of living are very similar to Kastamonu”.
After the speech, Mayor of Naryn Emilbek Alymkulov presented Certificate of Appreciation from Governor of Naryn to Mayor Babaş. After signing of protocol, the ceremony has ended with the mutual giving and receiving gifts and taking a family photo.
