Students coming from Turkic Republics met at a breakfast organization in Zeytinburnu Belgradkapı Social Foundation Complex on 13 December 2017, Wednesday with the cooperation of Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) and Istanbul University.
The meeting was attended by Secretary General of TDBB Fahri Solak, International Student Office Coordinator of Istanbul University Assoc. Prof. Dr. Faruk Taşçı and nearly 70 students coming from Turkic Republics.
Talking at the meeting, Secretary General of TDBB Fahri Solak said, “As TDBB, we are in close cooperation with Turkic Republics. We have 1.160 members from 28 different countries. In addition to cooperation with local governments, we also support cultural and educational activities. Within this framework, we give research support to students who come from abroad to have education in Turkey and also write their Master and PhD degree dissertations on local governments, city history, architecture and etc. As TDBB, we are always ready to support these kinds of programs.”
On the other hand International Student Office Coordinator of Istanbul University Assoc. Prof. Dr. Faruk Taşçı spoke as, “More or less I know what difficulties you have faced because I had my education abroad. The reason why we opened this office is to minimize the difficulties and problems you have experienced. We want you to feel as if you are at home. We set off with you and we will take firm steps forward on this road. I believe that we will carry out successful projects together.”
After the speeches, evaluations and suggestions of the students, the program ended with taking group photo.
