Mayor of Tutin Semsudin Kucevic, a Mayor of Municipality who lost his life in a traffic accident on October 11, 2017, was commemorated with prayings that were hosted by TDBB’s board of managment member Bayrampaşa Municipality on November 18, 2017 at Barbaros Mosque and commemoration programme that was held at Mehmet Akif Ersoy Culture Center. Tutin Municipality is a member of TDBB from Serbia’s Sandzak region

Deputy Prime Minister Hakan Çavuşoğlu, Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia Rasim Ljajic, Deputy Prime Minister of Montenegro Rafet Husovic, Mayor of Bayrampaşa Municipality Atila Aydıner, Mayor of Tutin Kenan Hot, President of Bosniak National Council Sulejman Ugljanin, Head of Islamic Community of Montenegro Rifat Fejzic, Mufti of Islamic Community in Serbia Sead Nasufovic, wife of deceased Mayor Bedrija Kucevic, his daughters, and his relatives from Sandzak are some among many that have participated at the programme.

The programme has started with the recitation of Kur’an and continued with the short film about Semsudin Kucevic’s life. After the film, Bosniak group named Gulistan has performed spiritual music.

Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey Hakan Çavuşoğlu who spoke at the commemoration programme said, “our brothers from Sandzak should be seen as a symbol of peace and stability at the heart of Europe with their religion and culture. An important part of the agreements signed with the Republic of Serbia on the last trip of our President is to ensure the economic prosperity of our brothers in Sandzak. With their hard work, rich culture and religious sensitivities our Sandzak brothers have become the key to the prosperity and peace in Serbia and Montenegro.”

By explaining the intense effort that the deceased Semsudin Kucevic, who has served Tutin for many years as Mayor, has shown for Sandzak Muslims and Balkan geography, Mayor of Bayrampaşa Municipality Atila Aydiner said that Kucevic is a bridge that formed fraternity between Turkey and Sandzak.
